                   ROOFING TO A HIGHER LEVEL

T&R Roofing Specialist, Incorporated completes the

roof replacement project at the HESS CORPORATION

                                          TERMINAL!

Enduring the labor intensive ordeal of removing the forty year old Built-Up Roof at The Hess Terminal Fueling Station proved to be a challenge.  Random areas of the roof exceeded six inches of solid asphalt. The equipment supports were embedded deep into the asphalt and required delicate care to ensure that the refrigerant lines were not damaged during the projects demolition operation. The parapet walls were cleaned free of all of the accumulated deposits of asphalt glazing and felts. The deteriorated and spalling concrete coping blocks required special attention.

HESS CORPORATION FACILITY FUELING STATION ROOF REPLACEMENT PROVES TO BE TOTAL SUCCESS STORY

New pressure treated wood blocking was mechanically fastened to the top of the parapet cap to enable the installation of a new Kynar 24 gauge steel color cladded metal. A new Firestone Building products fully adhered 20 year, NDL (No Dollar Limit) guaranteed roof system was installed over a rigid Polyisocyanurate insulation. New Scuppers, Collector Boxes, and downspouts were also added to the roof and building exterior to enable positive drainage and extended serviceability. The lower canopy roof covering the fueling managers and monitors offices was recovered with new pressure treated plywood and a fully adhered EPDM Roofing System installed. The canopy required innovative design and craftsmanship to contour the deck to provide a trough system that would establish drainage of the roof to the scupper outlets that were in some instances more than thirty feet apart.  Chris Geisler orchestrated the project management and design that would attribute to further projects awarded to our company by The Hess Corporation.

The roof refurbishments performed at the Maintenance Office Building were initiated by a comprehensive inspection, Computer Aided Design Drawing, and Roof Evaluation Report by James Pounds, T&R Roofing Project Preventive Maintenance and Restoration Manager. The restorations were performed to the outlined Roof Evaluation Specifications by Project Forman Worley Norman.  The roof was completed in the allotted time and provided a watertight condition and extended roof serviceability.

This project was engineered to achieve customer satisfaction and designed to eliminate a roof replacement cycle. The Maintenance Shed for the Oil Silo Storage Location was completely removed and replaced with thirty year warranted GAF shingles. The replacement incorporated ice and water shield, new aluminum gutter, downspouts, louver vents, and cobra ridge vent. Thanks to the combined efforts of our staff and field professionals Hess Corporation has requested that our company perform additional roof restorations and replacements at the Baltimore Terminal.  Hats off to a job well done!
